Parent involvement is most welcome at Healdsburg High School. Please
call the school (431-3420) if there is any way you wish to be involved.
PARENT INFORMATION NETWORK (PIN)
The Parent Information Network provides
information to parents about all school activities. It is a group of
parents dedicated to improving communication between the Healdsburg
schools and the parent community. It formed in the spring of 2002 and,
though it is a general community group, the initial emphasis is on the
High School. Not only do parents need to work together on the various projects
going on at the High School that require major parent involvement, but
they need to hear about student activities in order to understand what's
going on in the school. PIN publishes a Weekly
Parent Bulletin via e-mail for subscribing parents. They also publish
a Parent Handbook which is sent out to each
parent. And they organize evening parent meetings to present critical
information to parents. See their
website for more
information.
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL Site Council is an organization of parents, school staff, and
students who assist and guide the school in developing its goals and objectives. SSC
provides supplemental funds to improve the educational program. Parents are elected to the
Council on "Back to School Night."
GRADUATION CELEBRATION
This is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to providing an alcohol, drug and tobacco free graduation party for all eligible Seniors. The Class of 2009 will be heading to Scandia immediately following graduation on May 29. Parents are needed to assist in advance with invitations, publicity, prizes, and fund raising -- these are great jobs for parents of Seniors. On the day of event help is needed decorating at Scandia, checking the Seniors in at Rec Park, and working at the party preparing food, overseeing games, doling out prizes, caretaking possessions, and eventually cleaning up. Graduation is a big day for our Seniors, and the more parents that become involved, the more incredible an event we can create.
Planning meetings take place on the first Tuesday of the month. Look for notices in the Weekly Parent Bulletin or contact Dalene Whitlock (dwhitlock@w-trans.com or 431-8528) for more information. Contact Cheryle Belli at c-belli@comcast.net to volunteer to help with the party.
ATHLETIC BOOSTERS CLUB
Our Healdsburg High School athletes need your
support. The benefits of high school athletics are many. Research has shown that
athletes do better in school. The ideal of a healthy body and a healthy mind
holds true for Healdsburg High School where year after year many of our athletic
teams average over a 3.0 GPA and some teams have even achieved over a 3.5 GPA. The Healdsburg Greyhound
Athletic Booster Club supports these athletes and helps generate over
$20,000 a year for their programs. We support all the sports teams at the
high school. See detail breakdown. By joining the Booster Club, you too help support these
student athletes in one of Northern California's top high schools. New members are always
welcome. Booster merchandise may be ordered
at any time. Please call Dick Bugarske (431-3420) for more information.
BOP (Band Of Parents) Music Boosters Club

education in Healdsburg Schools. The primary goal is to help make music
education a rich and rewarding experience for our students by raising
funds for field trips, uniforms, instruments, and assisting with
performances and transportation. They are dedicated to supporting music
education at Healdsburg High, Healdsburg
Junior High, and Healdsburg Elementary Schools. For additional

department. Parents can select a class or department and provide a fund that
the teacher or department head may spend as they see fit. Contact HEF at 524-8747
or visit their website for more information.
