HHS Literature Fund
The English Department has determined that it needs more contemporary literature
in all of its English classes. Although a Grant was written and submitted, it
was not funded. Therefore, it is necessary to ask every student attending HHS to
donate, in the first two weeks of school next year, $25.00. This will give the
English Department enough money to purchase three contemporary novels for each
grade level. Of course, if there are parents or businesses who would like to
donate more, the school would be happy to accept. Checks may be made out to
HHS/Literature Fund. Thank you for your generosity - your students will benefit
greatly. Any questions a parent might have can be addressed to
bmortensen@husd.com.

Freshmen Orientation
August 18 from 10:00 - 2:00 PM is training for F.U.N. team
leaders (these are upperclassmen who will lead Freshmen orientation on the
following day). Interested students should sign-up in the main office or send
an email to tcable@husd.com. Students who have already signed-up will be
receiving a postcard in July which they need to return in order affirm or
decline attendance.
August 19 from 10:30 - 1:00 in Smith Robinson Gym is Freshmen Orientation.
All Freshmen should attend after they pick up their class schedules.

Thank You To Senior Parent Volunteers
A special note of thanks to all the Senior Parents who donated money for
the Senior Field Trip to Marine World which was a
huge success. Also, thank you to Rena Harold and Paula Wurlitzer who planned,
organized, and facilitated several of the Senior events this year including the
Dinner Dance and Bowling Alley Day (Picnic).
Thank you to the Senior parents for organizing the Brunch as well. I greatly
appreciate all the wonderful support and effort put forward for your children
and our students. It has been my honor to serve as the class of 2003
advisor...Tracy Cable
