Purpose: Anonymous 12-step program for students with family members or other significant people in their lives with drug or alcohol problems
Membership: Any HHS student

Major activities: Support group, working through the steps

AFS (American Field Service)
Purpose: Promote understanding a friendship between American and Foreign Exchange students
Membership: Visiting AFS students and American students interested in AFS
Meetings: No regular schedule
Major activities: Fundraising and other activities that support AFS

Art Club
Purpose: Promote an interest in art
Membership: All HHS students
Meetings: Weekly
Major activities: Trips to museums, art galleries

Asian Appreciation Club
Purpose: Promote appreciation of Asian culture
Membership: All HHS students
Meetings: No regular schedule
Major activities: Field trips to San Francisco (Asian Art Museum, China Town, Japan Town)

Ballet Folklorico
Purpose: Learn Mexican folk dancing
Membership: All HHS students
Meetings: No regular schedule
Major activities: Perform at various local activities, fundraisers for costumes

CSF (California Scholarship Federation)
Purpose: Academic honor society
Membership: Students must apply; acceptance based on last semester’s grades (See application form) [Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader free plug-in]
Meetings: Twice a year
Major activities: Possible college visits, scholarship opportunities
Dues: $3/semester
Chess Club
Purpose: To provide an opportunity to play chess at different levels and to meet and play members from other schools.
Membership: Any HHS student; novices will be given chess instruction
Meetings: Every Friday at lunch

FFA (Future Farmers of America)
Purpose: Promote leadership in agriculture
Membership: Students taking agricultural classes
Meetings: No regular meeting schedule
Major activities: Instruction in various aspects of agriculture, participation in local competitions

French Club
Purpose: To promote French culture
Membership: Any HHS student interested in French
Meetings: Every Thursday at lunch
Major activities: Fundraisers: Selling bonbons, chocolate, calendars, lollipops.Tasting French food; hosting group from France; playing games, making cards for the New Year and Valentine’s Day; celebrating French holidays (Mardi Gras). See French Club website.

Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)
Purpose: Promote tolerance and appreciation for diversity
Membership: Open to everyone
Meetings: Every Tues. at lunch in room 83
Major activities: We do fundraisers (bake sales), we educate
students and staff about sexual harassment and hate issues (such as law AB537 - a California law), we do fun activities together, and we plan and attend events together. We participate in Club Day here at HHS and provide materials for students who want to support
National Coming Out Day.

Interact
Purpose: To perform service for the school and local and international communities. It is sponsored by the Healdsburg Rotary Club.
Membership: Any HHS student
Meetings: Every Wednesday at lunch (room 72)
Major activities: Various fundraising and community events.
Dues: None.
Junior State
Purpose: National organization promoting a greater interest in politics
Membership: Any HHS student
Meetings: Weekly
Major activities: Attend conferences, have debate sessions, familiarize themselves with parliamentary procedures

Key Club
Purpose: Community service, helping others, raising money for world wide and local causes
Membership: Any caring HHS student
Meetings: Every Thursday
Major activities: Attendance at conventions, adoption of local elementary school, cleanups around school grounds
Dues: $10 annually which includes a Key Club T-shirt
Mayo/Pan Am Club
Purpose: Mexican American Youth Organization – promote cultural awareness
Membership: Mexican/American or Latino students
Meetings: Weekly
Major activities: Fundraisers, field trips

MESA - Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement
Purpose: To provide an academic enrichment program that serves educationally disadvantaged students and emphasizes participation by students from groups with low rates of eligibility to four-year institutions.

Peer Helpers
Purpose: To provide peer support, raise money for State Conference and HIV Conference

Progressive Club  
Purpose: To act environmentally and as human rights activists

  Major activities: Annual Russian River Clean Up, participation in Martin Luther King speech contest, organized first Earth Day Celebration and Art Show
