EDUCATION PATHWAY

 

A new curriculum for students interested in pursuing careers in the education field starts in the fall of 2000.  Aimed primarily at juniors and seniors, this program is for the college prep student and the vocational student.  Skills and certificates will be awarded allowing students to go directly to work or they may choose to work and attend college simultaneously.

 

TEACHER DIVERSITY (Grades 11-12)

 

Prerequisites: C or better in English and Survival Skills

 

This course will help to identify and support the career goals of students anticipating a career in the field of education.  It is planned to be the first new class in the Education Pathway.  the course was established by the Chancellor’s Office of the California State University.  Students will learn about the field of education, gain actual classroom experience in a teaching role, and may enter college with some prerequisites for their fieldwork in education met.
